    Mazen Dimachkie, MD, FAAN, FANA

    Mazen Dimachkie, MD, FAAN, FANA, is a Professor of Neurology, Executive Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman for Research Programs and Director of the Neuromuscular Division in the Department of Neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

    As the director of KU Medical Center Neuromuscular Research, he manages one of the busiest neuromuscular clinical trials units in North America. He is also Associate Director of the KU Medical Center site participating in the NINDS Network for Excellence in Neuroscience Clinical Trials known as NeuroNEXT.

    He received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon before completing 2 years of training in Internal Medicine at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr Dimachkie then completed his residency in Neurology at UT-Houston and his fellowship in electromyography and Neuromuscular Disease, both at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UT-Houston).

    Dr Dimachkie is ABPN board-certified in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Neuromuscular Medicine and holds a UCNS certificate in Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology.

    Professor and Associate Chairman

    Dr Jeffrey Rosenfeld is the Professor and Associate Chairman, Department of Neurology, the Director for the Center for Restorative Neurology at Loma Linda, and the Director for Neuromuscular/ALS Programs at Loma Linda University Health Systems. His clinical activities over the past 20+ years have largely focused on the sub-specialty development of unique neuromuscular programs with an emphasis on development of multidisciplinary approaches to provide aggressive, proactive care for patients with tertiary neuromuscular disorders.

    Specializing in lung and head and neck cancers, Dr. Edgardo Santos has held leadership positions at various South Florida cancer centers and institutes as well as academic institutions such as Tulane University and University of Miami. He is a Clinical Affiliate Associate Professor at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University and a former recipient of the American Cancer Society (ACS) Spirit Award. He is also Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Board Member/Treasurer of FLASCO, member of the Membership Committee of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASCL) and Editorial Member of IASLC News.

    Perry Shieh, MD, PhD

    Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics

    Perry Shieh, MD, PhD, is professor of neurology and pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles. His principal clinical interests include myasthenia gravis, inflammatory myopathy, spinal muscular atrophy, muscular dystrophy, electromyography, and muscle histopathology. Dr Shieh has served as an investigator in numerous clinical trials for neuromuscular conditions and has a particular interest in gene therapy. He received his medical degree and his PhD in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr Shieh completed fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology/EMG at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.
