Amber Jobe, CRNP, currently works in a neurology clinic in Lutherville, Maryland managing patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), neuropathy, and dementia. Amber was diagnosed with relapsing remitting MS in 2014. As a provider and a patient with MS, she has had the opportunity to witness firsthand the good and bad days of having MS. There was a point early in Amber’s disease course when she did not realize the risks associated with inconsistency in utilization of disease modifying therapy until she experienced a significant relapse causing longstanding neurological symptoms. She serves as an advocate for early detection and initiation of disease modifying therapy, especially for the African American population who are often underdiagnosed and carry a more aggressive disease course.
